I know, nobody is much concerned in such small places happenings, hence the title, but this is getting ludicrous in Hungary, it's worth a laugh at least (even if a sad one).

No sources and translation as it would take me ages and on-line translators don't make much sense, just my summary.

This government has just introduced - before 15 March celebrations of 1848 Revolution - a new law set, by the force of which, all those offensive at public places and most importantly, at remotely political gatherings and at political figures; like carrying out verbal or physical offence of no effective nature - examples: egging, throwing paper balls, shouting loud, covering identity, like wearing clothing, possibly obscuring the face and also even just suspected to have been having the intent to do so can be charged with prison of 2-5 years.( That's what murderers commonly get of course.)

On last day's "celebration's", there was a couple quietly holding a banner, stating: 'We want an accountable government in Budapest' - pretty much a quote from the 1848 12 points of then revolution, most of which could be considered funnily enough standing as a demand till this day - they got well arrested, also a baby's milk bottle got confiscated as a potential weapon, amongst others. Big fun this.p-)

Go, Feri, go! Would you be arrested for shouting for the PM?rofl

Side track from topic, but yes, practice and theory being far, produce just that. Far from me to advocate death sentence, just don't think it's right for plenty of reasons, but I also have to see as a realist that what we have is also not right.
Like 1 prisoner's yearly up-keep is equal to somewhere around 36 students' study and some people are starving... surely they should at least work for their keep and pay for it as such. I know, some will say the education of them, I really would like to see the figures on that, like how many in which country got into working life, for what sum, etc. As I can't see anything of improvement shown up for it in some.
