It's got Jaguar wheels too

Overall looking remembers me of the Sepecat Jaguar or Mitsubishi F-1...
The nose from the Mig 29, the windshield is from the Mig 23/27 serie, the aircraft's rear is more like the genuine J-8.

Not Tornado. It's a bigger version of this:

definatley not a tornado copy...no swing wings.
Looks more similar to the Q-5C Fantan or the Mirage F-1C. Or even a SPECAT Jaguar.

It does, to me, look like a Tornado and a Jaguar combined, but thats not necessarily a bad thing :).
Is it currently in service? If so may I ask how many there in service?

Is it just me or do these still seem to maintain a lot of the features of 1950s and 60s era MiGs? I never understood some of the Chinese designs, they seem to have lots of potential for greatness but they keep legacy technology from the MiGs that are not optimal.
I like it as an aircraft, but it looks like something that should have been designed in the late 1960s.

Ok well first off -- you all are wrong
I have been doing extensive research for the past few minutes and i have concluded with this
The plane is an exact copy of this plane
http://www.chez.com/lesovnis/pics/a17.jpg
As you can see - it's almost an exact replica
For a different angle check this picture out
http://www.kayakketchikan.com/photos/flightseeing/pic6.jpg
As you can see -- these planes are almost exactly the same
The one on the top is in flight
the other, is docked, and had just recieved a new paint job to make it clerely look like a small prop plane
WOW

Every plane has two wings. A vertical stabiliser, an elavator and aileron and not forgetting the flaps.
For as long as the chinese plane has this charcteristics, it must be a case of them copying from of their western counterpart.
Funny how come no one is accussing the japs of copying the jaguar?:)
