New Russian weapons are showing up in Iraq, apparently smuggled across the Syrian border. One of the more dangerous has been the RPG-29. This is a larger version of the widely used RPG-7. With a ten pound launcher firing a 14.7 pound 105mm rocket, the RPG-29 warhead is designed to get past some forms of reactive armor (ERA). The larger weapon (3.3 feet long when carried out, six feet long when ready to fire and 65 percent heavier than the 85mm RPG-7) is more difficult to carry around and fire, but some have been captured, and the damage on some American armored vehicles indicate they were hit by an RPG-29 rocket. The RPG-29 has an effective range of 500 meters. The warhead can also penetrate five feet of reinforced concrete.

RPG-29
There is also a one shot version, the RPG-27, which weighs 17 pounds and has an effective range of 200 meters. Some of these have been found in Iraq as well. The RPG-29 and 27 are considered the "third generation" of the RPG family. The "second generation" was a failure, which the cheaper, and nearly as capable, RPG-7.

RPG-26
Both RPG-29s and 27s were developed and entered production just before the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. They are available through legitimate, or black market, arms dealers and are more expensive than the RPG-7 (which is manufactured by many countries.) RPG-29 launchers cost over $500 each, and the rockets for about $300 each. The RPG-27s cost over $500 each. It’s known that many of Saddam’s higher ranking supporters escaped to Syria with a lot of cash. Apparently some of it is being spent on RPG-27s and 29s.

How do you know they don't get stuff from Iran too? Or Turkey? Maybe even Jordan? Now you have to attack the entire middle-east.

i have yet to see any report, especially a convincing report of arms being smuggled from Saudi Arabia to Iraq...
But the evidence suggesting the materials, including conventional and unconventional weapons flow freely between Iraq and Syria is quite convincing.

Syria must die.
no actually it should be more like "extreme religious fanatics in the middle east should be exterminated. " then "religious extremists in other parts of the world should be exterminated." not including the pope of course...
That should do it... if not then perhaps start with Syria... or not... better start with Pakistan...

And when did this become a problem ?

The reason for this is because of the person we have in office. They would never let someone talk bad about their buddies.
But Syria however isn't on the good side of America. So information making them look bad and willing to help terrorists will come off quicker then a virgins underwear on prom night.
Until we get new people in the office who see that Saudi Arabia isn't as NICE as we like to think. We will never see any articles or information pointing the finger at them.

There's actually alot of articles pointing the finger at them, but Bu$h discredits them and continues the charade that Saudi Arabia is our "friend."
What all the Muslims countries do is outwardly pretend to be "pro-western" while covertly supporting terror. Some are more radical than others, but in the end, they side with their own kind over any pig-eating infidel. Their oil is what allows them to get away with it, people like Bu$h will never risk OPEC cutting off the oil like it did in the 70s, and he'll never risk his own profits. He hopes that Iraq could become America's chief oil supplier in the future, with US troops guarding that supply. Then he plans to go after Saudi Arabia and the others.
Like I've said before, the only problem is that the Muslims are well aware of this, and so is just about anyone else. It is suicidal to think they're just going to sit there and let that happen.
For the half trillion that was thrown away on this unwinnable quagmire, we could have transitioned to alternative fuels within a decade, but the Texas Petroleum Oligarchy will have none of that, instead it continues this war over an artificially overvalued commodity we could actually live without.
