As our beloved President (sic) is in a little bit of doggy poo at the moment.
What better time to take a leaf out of George's book and do something Macho with the military Unfortunatly we don't have any carrier borne planes so it will have to be ground based machismo
Below are some suggestions most popular one I WILL E-MAIL TO NUMBER 10 :D

what do you mean you don't have any carrier bourne aircraft? What about the HMS Invincible, Ark Royal and Illustrious. Wouldn't they have aircraft being aircraft carriers?

they have decided to retire the sea harriers to save money hence there just helicopter carriers
though we are going to buy some big proper carriers for the jsf

:petting: :petting:

Is there any chance the old carriers will be able to operate the JSF, does the UK variant have VTOL capability?

NO idea re the jsf and carriers.
But personally not very happy about the JSF deal Seems the British won't get the codes to be able to modify the JSF to use diffrent weapons without US permission which dos'nt seem justifed. I don't won't my country being at the mercy of the pentagon.
Personally I'm swung between Milling 3minutes of pain or the fan dance 8 hours of pain

Innovaters of the modern carriers, its really sad to hear that the Brits might not be able to get their 2 new full size carriers.

BAE 'budget warning' over new aircraft carriers (http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/story/0,3604,997967,00.html)
MoD faces rocketing costs on new aircraft carrier (http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0600uk/content_objectid=13178780_method=full_siteid=50082_headline=-MoD-faces-rocketing-costs-on-new-aircraft-carriers-name_page.html)
Concerns over new ships after BAE warning (http://www.thescotsman.co.uk/business.cfm?id=767612003)

They'll now have to opt for smaller carriers which will still be capable of supporting the JSF, albeit in smaller quantities. I still think that by keeping the French out will be better for your national security.

I reckon the milling ... he couldn't hack the fan dance and god knows what would happen to him in Basra so at least with the milling he's got a good three minutes garaunteed hammering.

I'm with Gordon - he wouldn't get out of the car park at the Storey Arms.

The 3 carriers HMS Ark Royal, Invincible, and Illustrious are not just helicopter carriers now, they do still operate Harriers.

The Carriers always carried two types of Harrier, Sea Harriers for air defence and Harrier GR's for ground attack. Only the Sea Harriers have been retired, so they still operate the Harrier GR's.

What may have confused people is that during the Iraq conflict HMS Ark Royal was indeed deployed as a helo carrier (i.e no harriers), this was because there was deemed no need for them during that particular conflict and it was decided that an extra commando carrier for the marines would be more useful. But the Ark Royal is now back and so are the Harriers. :D

The Harriers come from JHF (a mixed RN/RAF organisation) - set up to streamline the force (although the RN pilots had to be given a £55,000 each payoff to get them to move from RNAS Yeovilton).

The whole point of the JSF (from a British point of view) is to retain the VSTOL capability of the Harrier - that's not to say that future cuts won't change things.

BTW Sea Harriers conducted FGA and GR7's,9's etc AD...

What is milling? Is that the game where you smash a turd and splatter each other to see who has to buy beer?

No, I believe that game is called "Speckles." (gross) Not sure what milling is... could be just "hanging out" as we Americans call it, as in "milling about"? Don't know, just a guess.

Milling is a form of boxing where you are not allowed to use defensive blocks or moves. You can only attack. It is used in the UK armed forces (but particularly the Para's) to instill controlled aggression. You must start when the bell goes, but equally you must stop when the bell goes. The DS will usually put you against either your best mate or someone much bigger than you.
