Does anyone know when the Turtle pot was replaced by the MK 6 kevlar for the BAOR?


Anyone have pics of British soldiers wearing the Turtle helmet from the 70s and 80s?

Mk6 came into service in 1987, so I assume that British Forces in Germany got it issued at around that time

The bdu's look olive green with some sort of flak vest. Was the vest part of the British infantry loadup in the 70s?

It was if you were in NI.

1st infantry units in BAOR got the Mk 6 in Feb 87. That and the S10 resi. Up til then it was the MK 5 and hessian.
