What happened to his promises of being a new kind of politician whose policies will unite the country?

Dunno. Republican voters just couldn't suck it up?

That pretty much sums it up. They wanted to cry and act like babies over every single thing that happens, so the idea is to be on the opposite side of whatever Obama is on.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Obama said Christians are nice guys, the GOP right now would claim Christians are a scourge who need to be wiped off the planet.

It become oh so very childish.

Listen to yourself as to who's is "oh so very childish" through your idiotic, wide generalizing, ignorant statement.

Doing your bit to break down the partisan divide?

I gave Bush his dues on issues such as restarted talks with Iran and a (belated) effort to do something about Palestine.

And to be fair I'm not sure massive spending is the smartest move in a stagnant economy but then I'm no economic expert either. It is no suproise that there is a big divide over the stimulus when the dems were the ones who complained about Bush overspending and now they're doing the same - albeit on projects dear to them and anathema to the GOP.

But we have clowns here whining about teleprompters and i-pods, middle names (don't think we don't get the BHO dig) and birth certificate conspiracies. The cacophany since the election has been even more puerile and deafening. Anything, anything at all they can complain about, the Rush Limbaughs and Sean hannities will jump on. They are leading a widening of the cultural divide exploited by the Bush administration. Karl Rove is chuckling now the monster he created can hunt on its own.

They'd better hope Obama's policies fail as badly as his predecesscors or they're just goping to look like sore losers.

I'm Republican and I was less than thrilled with Bush, and I am less than thrilled with Obama. Both of them seem like weak leaders with nothing good to offer.

What I can't stand is how the media loves the guy. After he got elected, every single magazine had his mug on it. I'm sick of the worship, because he's nothing special.

It'll wear off if the economy tanks. Bush had his share of mugshots till he started pissing people off too.

I didn't become critical of Bush until he had time in office to prove he was incompetent. I've got a few criticisms of Obama so far (too much spending on his economic stimulus plan, and as always, his gun control platform), but for the most part, I will withold judgement until I've seen for myself whether or not his ideas will work.

I sure hope you're American to be talking like that.

Otherwise, yeah, I gave Bush a chance but he really was that stupid.
I gave Obama a chance and it's too early to tell; signs don't look so good for him but it does get a little old when everyone wants to post everytime Obama takes a dump. If we know we're already ****ed there's no reason to tell us EVERY DAY IN A DIFFERENT THREAD.

The 'biased pro-Obama' news organization CNN just spent the last 4 hours reaming him over it via Olbermann and that chick that follows thereafter. So yeah, looks like his ass is in the fryer
