Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything in particular about IDing if this M-43 German Field Cap is original or not

Seems too clean to be original, but it could be un-issued. Marking inside reads: "Gesellschaft textil GmbH DWB R 44." Could R 44 somehow mean 1944?

Pretty crappy copy imo.

Come to think of it; the color tone isn't even right. Even for an un-issued version, way to bright.

Get a UV Blacklight bulb see if the thread glows. If it is its Poly cotton threads fabric.

Its got Black Backed Panzer Eagle and Cockade, why not Feldgrau? AFAIK M-43 caps in Splinter B/C werent Issue items but field made.

Not an Expert, but it not only looks way too clean, and unused as well. Remember this is supposed to be 65 years old and survived a world war.

It's a fake/repro for sure.

Agreed, the weave is wrong, the colours and tones are wrong. I have one at home made of original splinter A, if I think about it next time I pass by I'll take pics for you.
