J-10's last picture is 3ID.
All I have on the Rangers in Iraq is a video of a nighttime firefight.

Can you provide a link to download the video?

J-10, the first 3 pictures are US Marines (not Recon), and the last one is the 3rd Infantry Division.

easyand, if you just do a search through these forums you should be able to find plenty of pictures of Marine Recon. You can search the usmc.mil image archive (http://www.usmc.mil/marinelink/image1.nsf/imagearchive) for things like "recon," "reconnaissance," "force recon," etc.

I know for a fact the third pic is not a Ranger...I dont think any of those are.

just takes getting used to... its the camo pattern, weaponry, gear, attitude, vehicles/armor aircraft, location, badges/patches, rank insignia. its really just something you can "tell" who's generaly in what branch... in most cases.

The first three I just know are Marines because I've seen the captions for them. As for the last one...

http://media.militaryphotos.net/photos/albums/Gulf_War_2_US_Forces_Training_Exercises_Buildup_in_Kuwait/boxsoldier2_use2_full.jpg

The patch he's wearing on the side of his helmet is that of the US Army 3rd Infantry Division. I'm not familiar with most of the US Army's patches, but every infantry division has its own patch/emblem. The thing about the Marines is that they don't wear any unit patches of their respective Regiment or Division. The only insignia that identify them as Marines are their name tapes on their cammies that say "US MARINES" and the eagle/globe/anchor insignia they will sometimes wear on their helmet.

Maybe someone else could help you out with unit patches/tabs of the US Army.

Its US Soldiers.

Marines hate to be called "soldier".
