well, i am a sales dirtector of a military store in CN.

and i bought 4 of the 3 color ECWCS PARKA. all of them are no bottons.

but the woodland one has bottons.

you know in CN, the ECWCS SYSTEM(parka pants and bear liner) is very expencive. i bought 4 sets!!!!! of the 3 color ecwcs system. i don't want waste my money. so i need the answer immediatelly.

I don't believe the three color desert has been intro'ed in the 2nd gen version as yet. Not much call for extreme cold weather gear in the desert.

Function: The 2nd Generation ECWCS will provide protection from wind, rain and snow.


Description: Features: The outer garments of this system feature a parka and trousers. The parka has two hand warming/cargo pockets, two side access breast pockets, two upper sleeve pockets, and a roll and stow hood that fits into the collar. It also features water shedding slide fasteners and zippered armpit vents. The trousers feature suspender attachments, belt loops, two side leg cargo pockets, and knee high zippers for easy donning and doffing while wearing boots. The material is a tri-laminate using a waterproof, vapor permeable membrane laminated between two nylon knits. Both garments come in woodland camouflage. These garments are windproof, waterproof and breathable.

The current Extended Cold Weather Clothing System is approximately 8 years old. The parka lacks design features that would make the garments more functional and waterproof. The 2d Generation ECWCS does not have these shortcomings.

Yes, that is a GEN 1 ECWS parka. The GEN 1 had a pocket on the sleeve that is straight up and down and has the "Cobra" hood. The GEN 2 parka has a slanted pocket on the sleeve and a stowable hood.

could you tell me why doesn't my ECWCS have bottons around the hat? my friend buy one too, his has many black bottons around the hat. and my woodland ECWCS parka has black bottons around hat too!

why the same GEN 1 ECWCS parka has two different type of hat?
