ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- A three-judge panel ruled Monday against Republican Norm Coleman in his dispute with Democrat Al Franken over who should be declared the winner of the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota.
It takes 60 votes to defeat a fillibuster in the Senate. Interesting times.

In Minneslowta? I tell you from the place that you've never seen so many people who think that they are important and are quite stubborn. Sorry, but if you think voting is not well-regulated in Minnesota, you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but people here when running things like voting will generally run things to the letter and then some. So I don't know what you're trying to say. You might have guessed correctly that it was a contest between tweedledum and tweedledee, but both sides have relied heavily on the courts to determine the outcome. Personally, they should both be lined up against the wall and elect Chulo Allen for all I care. But it's dumb to see people jump to conclusions about how the election was some sort of setup because most people here are actually quite embarassed about it.

Well, we're talking Minnesota here. The people that elected Jessie Ventura to Governor. This election of Al Franken just proves that the people of Minnesota aren't social drinkers they're full blown alcoholics.
It's fine though. He will not give them the filibuster proof majority they need and frankly unless a small miracle happens with the economy in a year the Senate is going to change hands in 2010. No doubt about it. Too many very close races and too many Senators like Thomas Dodd really in trouble right now coming up for re-election in 2010.
The Democrats are going to have to hope for a miracle to hold the Senate after 2010.
In fact, the defeat in 2006 and 2008 was a blessing for Republicans. You don't want to be the majority when the economy is in trouble.

Well hell, you're pretty good. That's exactly right. That is why any innuendo that this was some sort of great Democratic setup or that the outcome was determined by the amount of outside money to the lawyers is complete bull****.

Spot on. I don't know if you're from the US, but understand you can root for your team all you want, but in the end we're more ****ed than most are letting on and I sure hope you don't spout that "I hope the rank amateur Democrats fail so the Republicans will get in" nonsense because I assume you have a dog in this hunt, too.

Well except for the fact of so many "missing" "misplace" "misread" "mishandled" votes and the numbers which defy statistics and records. Both sides sucked at handling this election, and next time i will move there and be voted emperor of earth

This is, by no means, a done deal. We're still going to see this go to the state supreme court and then, if need be, the United States Supreme Court. It'll be many more months before this is over.
United States Constitution
Article VIII - When Things Get Silly
Given the assumption, that one in four Persons are retarded, there is rational Belief, that this Union, with its Laws and Procedures, will inevitably get silly.
It is thereby imperative, that every Half-Century, the Laws in this Union will be killed by Fire, for the exception of this Constitution, thus allowing the Laws of this Union to be reconsidered for the wellbeing of this Union.
I need to go back in time and present this.
