The decapitated body must be in an olfactory state of decomposition ..
It's been a few days and the temperatures in Iraq are high at this time.

They would have probably embalmed the body before he came back so I doubt they're wearing the masks because of the smell.

Remember that the decapitated body was dumped after an unknown period and left exposed without refrigeration in 120+degree Farenheit Iraqi Sun until it was discovered. After discovery it would certainly have been 'prepared' for shipment back to South Korea. I don't think the masks are for the SARS virus ...

allrite, this is why mother f*ckers are dying over there, letting civilians get closer than 20 meters from you is just plain stupid. these people arent your friends. if somebody gets close to you walks through your patrol or any kind of b.s. like that, you better get that person on the ground and mess them up, botom line. all thee ROEs are getting blown out of proportion... it may sound crude and mean but thats the way it is. at least down here, we dont play games with these people.

Wow just looking at those menacing Marine drill instructors and all their upfront yelling and shouting, and also looking at the looks on those recruits faces is just something to marvel at :D ……..all I can say is that we don’t do it quite like that in the IDF, but I guess different methods and styles for two different military systems ;)
Anyways now to some pics from today....
IDF soldiers in operations in Shechem (Nablus), searching for terrorists (got 7 of them today), arms, etc……..

Basically, as soon as you show up at MCRD and before you get your haircut, you get about ten seconds to call home and say this exact sentence. It's something along the lines of "Hello mom, I've arrived at Parris Island safetly. I love you. Goodbye."

You are serious? :cantbeli:
The Gulf War and the Israeli-Palestinian cnflict are not related.
Short version - Israel and Palestinians both lay claim to the same land, depending on whose biad you tale you can argue forever who has more right to be there. Very hot topic. If you want to start a heated debate, bring this up.
I lean to the Israeli side. The Palestinian leader is are mere terrorist who rose through the ranks as a killer. (that should start a few flames, huh? ;) )

It's called a Maxillofacial shield. It's issued as part of the AirWarrior program. Made by Gentex Corp for use with the HGU-56 flight helmet. It's basically for debris and wind blast. It gives that extra bit of intimidation when you're sitting in the door with your 240 pointed down.

Why they are werain masks?
Most likely to protect their identity. I'm sure they could've have worn black balaclava, but it would've looked a bit odd with their white dress uniforms.
