I'm trying to find reliable information on modern tactics and strategy. Because I'm ordering wargames like TacOps4 and Armored Task Force, and I want to make productive use of my time there. Any suggestions?

screw tacops, counter-strike, MGS-online, or any COD-online. or you can ambush the enemy with hax0rz. as far as gameplay, safety (and firepower) in numbers.

If you want an education, READ the Small War Journal.. It's a bit academic, but deals with all current buz-word topics: UW, COIN, FID, CT, ect...

There is a series of articles called ‘Tactics101’ on the ACG magazine website (http://www.armchairgeneral.com/category/tactics101). They are written for wargamers and the general public. A new article is added each month. It is best to start at the beginning with the original articles(http://www.armchairgeneral.com/category/tactics101/page/3).

Mostly focused around potential weapons for sci-fi writers, but covers realistic weapons first and centers around tactics and what the future will look like.

What Deagle Said...you just can not top that...also, "Von Clauzowitz on War" is a great one. After that, anything by Sir Basil Henry Liddell Hart...if you read those three, then become a Birgade Commander, get men of Gurgha, Diggers from 1917, Rhodesians, French (especially spirit of Dien Bien Phu), Pols (of any era), Russians of 1944, Eastern Front Germans of 1942, British of any era, Canadians pre 1954, U.S. Marines of any era, any airborne troops from any nation from any era, Japanese of any era, North Koreans of 1950 ...you can conquer the world pdq.
