banjo...

i just bought a banjo...im pritty pumped...i havnt played an stringed instrment before....im a drummer but i have been told the focus on rythm helps...anyways...im pritty pumped about it...



so....im going to focus on playing stuff like flogging molly....the tossers...the eagles...and guster....anyone have any suggestions of stuff like that with good banjo music...

That's funny because my friend got a banjo for Christmas last year, she absolutely loves them, and she has no idea how to play it. She'll probably learn eventually, but for now she just walks around strumming it :lol:

Being a drummer first always helps. Of course, I started playing drums in 4th grade and never learned how to really read notes to the point that I could play something like the xylophone until I was in about 9th grade, and even then I still wrote the letters under the notes anyway.
