A rather wealthy man that lived in the town I lived in last year owns a fully restored P-51D, complete with .50cals, at the airport I took lessons out of. What an absolute beauty that thing is. He also has some sort of other WW2-era 2-seat trainer, but I'm not sure what that was exactly.

Try this site http://www.richard-seaman.com/Wallpaper/Aircraft/index.html

loads of good WWII airpower. NZ has my vote for the nicest "unknown" WWII plane collection.

Not BS at all... 'Big Beatiful Doll' was a P-51 flown by John Landers while he was with the 78th FG in England
during WWII. He started off the war flying P-40's with the 9th FS, 49th FG and scored six confirmed kills during
his time in the Pacific, also successfully evading capture after having been shot down.

He spent some time as a flight instructor but was soon in combat again, this time with the 55th FG in the ETO.
Before the war was over, Landers was to have served with a further three fighter groups; the 357th, 78th
and 361st in that order.

His final tally was 34.5 kills with 14.5 of those being in the air, the rest being ground kills. He was one of the
relative few to score kills both in the ETO & PTO and one of the fewer who managed to score five or more kills
in both TO's.

Fade to Black...
