^ Thats right. Even if you end up never shooting it and selling it later, you'll make a killer profit.

Great gun. I hope you can find some ammo to feed it.

The M14 is a great rifle to shoot. I have a 1961 Winchester, which cost my Dad £260 ($383.77 at today's exchange rate) when he bought it for me!!

I would assume (for that price) it's going to be a Norinco.

There are Norc M14s going on some websites for around $500.....just saying.

Do some home work on the stampings & marks. Norinco & Polytech (China) made some copies and I'm not sure that a PRC copy is worth 600 C..

Nope....... Sold out and no more of them will be shipping in from The PRC. The last batches that came in were from leftover parts in China. There are no new ones in the future. If you want one you have to keep an eye on the E&E section at places like Canadiangunnutz.com

As a rule on the forums they sell for anywhere between $500 and $1000 depending on what work/upgrades have been done to them.

Think I've read somewhere that the Norinco's have head space problems too.

I would consider joining up at www.canadiangunnutz.com ....there are tons of very knowledgable m-14 fanatics there.

Ask around here: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=70

Man double-posts are things of the past after you read this topic.

And that sucks about the Norinco M14S'... I'd take it off marstar completely.

So would I. Played around with one of my platoons a few days ago, now I'm desperately looking for one myself.

A TRW Manufactured M-14 would be considered a Class III Firearm capable of Full Automatic Fire in the USA.

Whether the Selector is fitted is immaterial, the Feds consider it a Machinegun even if the Selector Lock has been welded to the reciever.

Such a Rifle would fetch close to 25K legally

Death.

Dang it the Springfield M1A are so expensive in Canada, if I can remember a number like $2500 is floating around in my head. Are they around the same price in America?

About the most even handed assessment of the quality of the Polytech/Norinco receivers I've read is here. http://army.ca/forums/index.php?topic=33473.15

But I have still yet to actually see or hear of one that fails a proper hardness test.

The bolt and headspace are a different matter. Having the headspace checked and the bolt inspected for excessive wear are mandatory. Or have the bolt replaced with one made out of the right metal in the first place..

They got the Op Rod right. Which ain't easy actually.

The LRB mentioned above is tops.

7385564:

How did this end up? Is this an actual "US Rifle Model M14" manufactured by TRW?

If so, was it an early model, that still included the selector for full auto?

If you are still not sure, check out the link below. You can look up the serial number on the heel of the receiver.
