Hey, I just need a little help with a workout before I hopefully join the Canadian Military (Infantry) in 2006. Basically, I just need a good workout to do, to be extremely prepared for basic, and maybe even one that is good enough for Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2).
Thanks a ton!

I have a fricking great idea for you! go to www.AusSpecialForces.com - news/info - Selection Info(new) and read some of the workout programs available to US and Australian SF who are preparing for selection - start out with the 6 week program for Aus SF and beware of shin splints!!!

Try this when you first wake up...100 jumping jacks then without missing a beat get down and do 25 push-ups as fast as you can. Keep doing this over... jumping jack to push-up to jumping jack to push-up ect. After about 15 minutes you feel pretty damn tired.
P.S. make sure to strech first.

For running, interval training is good.
For push-ups, do like 4 sets of 90% of your max and decrease rest time between sets over time. Do them shoulder width, wide, diamond, etc.

Of course endurance is what you're going for. Be fit, but don't be overly built either. Lots of muscle requires a lot of circulation and you're gonna get tired quicker if you're huge.

You can't beat a combination of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, leg lifts, running & ruck marching. If you want to crank it up a bit try the workouts at www.crossfit.com These are intense and are being used as w/o in the SWAT/LE & SOF community. Also, www.strend.com is a good sight. STREND stands for strength & endurance started by a guy named Ed Bugarin, an ex-Delta guy.
Good Luck
