Gudday all, been floating around for a while and must say that this section of the forum kicks ass!! I'm usually getting sprung having a good look at the photos for most of my day here at work on HMAS Stirling Navy Base.
So as a thinks, here's some photos and some vids from our side of the world.
Be safe!
My last sea posting was on this baby, ANZAC Class Frigate HMAS Stuart. I was one of the lucky ones to commission her.

In the unlikely event of an invasion out northern coast will likely be one of the first targets. Our cammo suits the environment there to a tee
In Australia if you can look like a Gum Tree your all good

Yeah but it's all good with that, everything I post is vetted and is usually public knowledge anyway. I'll get some more pics up shortly, found some great pics from work sites.

That's actually the aft section of the sub. It's the towed array mast.

Excuse this question is a little silly because I have never seen this part
on our subs(maybe thay have this part but hidden in the water ;) )

The first time I saw the Australian cammo pattern, I said to myself this pattern looks similar to the ones used by the USMC during World War II, their weapons are modern enough why stick to the old WWII pattern, then I saw the photos and realized that it really blends in with your native terrain. Great photos man. :)

Once you roll around in the local dirt a bit, auscam works well almost every where. It's good in the bush, jungle and our deserts.

This would cause a nice PR sh!t st()|2m in the US. "Oh sure, send the black guy out to get mauled by the dog. I see how it is."
Just kidding, the dude in the bite suit looks like he might even be laughing. Probably a handler himself.
Also I have two complaints about that ANZAC ship.
1. It sails near ice, which exists in cold places.
2. It sails on rough waters.
Find me a nice navy that only patrols tropical lakes with semi-clothed female natives of questionable morality and I'm in. I'm gonna have to leave this other stuff to you crazy Aussies.

yeah it isnt the most eye pleasing but it gets the job done
as DIGRAR said roll around in the dirt and its almost invisible, and u can use it anywhere so camo doesnt have to look good it has to be efective and our camo is
and yeah thakns for the photos man.
and goroco what did he say that was wrong...
McLane
06-29-2004, 06:20 AM
Oh yes, there camo is very efective! :) Do you have Snow-Camo? For Mountain-Troops for example? It's hard to believe taht you uses snow-camo, but.... i don't know, for out-of-area-missions perhaps...

Nah, it's all good mate. Thats how she is when surfaced. Most towed arrays I think are in the tower or under the waterline while running on the surface.
Not a bad sub though, spent two weeks on one and loved it!

And to add to 3RAR's environmental 'update' for our International mates here ;) Australian Infantry and Special Forces have operated in three seperate conflicts involving snow patrolling/fighting.
WWII - Syria/Lebanon 1941
Korean War - 1950-1953
Afghanistan - 2001-2002
With Australian territories in the rich Antartic continent, operational requirements in the 'global war against terrorism' and so forth - our SF guys with good help from our co-ANZAC Kiwis and US/Brit/Canucks do train in Artic ops.

So does Israel. But AFAIK the Alpinistim unit doesn't have a snow camo (just white color). Probably because mountains don't have much other than snow.
