Bremer Hands Over Iraqi Sovereignty Two Days Before Deadline

Ambassador L. Paul Bremer (search) signed the legal paper in the presence of Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi (search) on Monday and presented it to the chief justice of Iraq, Midhat Al-Mahmoud (search).

they have no reason to blow things up anymore. Unless they use the excuse of "we want elections".

The thing is, it's been clear this was going to happen for quite a long time now. What reason would they have to continue attacks when the transfer of power was going to happen on the 30th? Just doing it for fun? Maybe if some of these insurgents/militants/whatever they're called would sit down and think for a few minutes, they'd realize that their attacks on both civilian and military targets only slow the progress of bringing full independence from foreign nations to Iraq. The sooner attacks stop, the sooner a full military and police force can be built up, the sooner the country can stabilize itself.

we can only hope.... but we all now that they will continue untill islamic rule proveils!

We so F**ked up in this.
We aren't really turning the country over.
There will still be a strong military presecne. Military operations will still be carried out.
Iraqi's and other insurgents will still attack American's and Coalition troops.
So all this means, is.......

In the short run, of course. Doesn't take a "geneus" to figure that out :)
It's the long run I think about. Just hope all goes well in the coming future...
