5 replies already and Argyll's not one of them... :cantbeli: quiet you's.
Marshal, this is related to a post Argyll made in another thread... I think he may have been refering to developments regarding certain new detainees in American care.

I can confirm: There are unconfirmed rumors. When the rumors have been confirmed they will cease being rumores.

I hope I have contributed to unvealing the truth.

nevermind, my hopes have been dashed in another thread. I no longer care what Argyll's rumour is. It isn't what I was hoping for - Zarqawi's frontal lobe in plum sauce with a nice chianti on the side.

Same as it was yesterday.......and the day before that........and the day before that.
There is no difference.......like I said on another thread,it's not a magic switch that makes all the problems and troubles dissapear.

It's very quiet in Baghdad to be honest, only difference is there's a huge Iraqi Flag now flying over the conference centre.......other than that no change at all.

BAGHDAD (*******) - The U.S. military denied reports on Monday morning that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian militant who Washington says is allied to Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, had been captured in Iraq.

"It's not true, the reports are not true," Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, deputy director of operations for the U.S. military in Iraq, told ******* by telephone. "We've heard numerous reports about it, but they are not true."

that is good to hear that baghdad is quiet today. but not sure if the new government has the ability to solve conflicts between different tribes. anyway the late future may be still difficult for civil contractors ( i think), but i heard that NATO has said would send some troops to iraq (to train iraqi army or police? not sure) if iraq can possess a stronger law enforcement force to help to stable the present situation, that may do some help for u guys there. just some thoughts. and most important of all, always watch ur back argyll and be safe.

Thats where you could be wrong,as of this morning Iraq became a Soveriegn state again, and they will dictate as to where Zarqawi will go,if he has indeed been captured, not the US,don't forget he and his gang have killed more Iraqi's than Americans.

It makes a perfect sense. If he has been captured... nobody will ever admit this officially. He will "be caught" by media when all possible intelligence will be gathered... He is a CRIMINAL (not convicted yet)... remember...?

while I think that there is a point where we can delineate between terrorists and criminals amongst those forcefully objecting to US invovlment in Iraq, Zarqawi falls squarely on the terrorist side of that debate. It boils down to tactics really - and in Zarqawi's case they couldnt be any more clearly terrorist tactics. However, I dont know that we too should start beheading people.
