about the M4
when it gets issued do you get a bag with the various bolt on goodies with it? Or do they stay in stores?
Or my guess the bolt on goodies are notional well you can get them but not in your career :D

Do you mean all the attachments for the RIS?
Like most units I think a lot of guys buy them Privately such as the flashlights and the Aimpoints etc,but I'm guessing stuff such as the ANPEQ 2/4 would be kept in stores?

Depends on unit I would say - but for some of the army SOF it comes with a kit. those attachments include (usually but not limited to - and depends on what generation you have) a vertical for grip, acog 4x, acog reflex or aimpoint, visible laser, an/peq 2 or paq 4, visible light, and sometimes a number of surpressors.... many kits did not originially include the acog 4x, acog reflex or the surpressors.

The only place I have seen them stored was the arms room, but maybe others do different.

When we are lucky enough to get an M-4 (we are normally issues M16A2s for field training and M14s for drill) you have to sign out all of the seperate parts on a 2062. Thats how it works for us, but then again, we aren't a line unit. Just my limited expiriances.
