Jewish and Germans houses in Poland

Many of Jews and Germans wants to get back their houses which are in Poland. I understand it. But why Poles have to pay for it? Have we started WWII? We were just pawns in the game called WAR. We didn`t want to change our borders after WWII. USA, GB and Russia decided to change our borders and to expel Germans from Poland. Between 1944 and 1989 Russia was in charge in Poland and russian communists decided to expel Jews from our country.
My family also lost their home in Lwow (Leopolis). One day a russian soldier told them - "you had 24 hours to move". And they had to left their home and travel to western Poland. You think that they were happy? Imagine - you have 24 hours to left your home for ever.
So if you want to get back your houses it is OK. But remember who is responsible for that and who should pay for it.

My family lost home in Lwów and Skniłów after september39. BTW my grandfather was from Austria, and after WWII he lost his home too(Militia get it). But I dont care, fuk it- its history now :|

Ok few words about "giving back houses"
Polish law says that only property of religion organizations must be given back to them (Catholic, Jewish Muslim Orthodox whatever other religion) if property cand be given back local authority must give another building(or land) of equal value or money.
All other demands from civil ppl (like Germans from Ericka Steinbah or American Jews(they tried to sue Poland in american court... I didn't heard about sues from Israeli Jews) will not be considered by Polish goverment.

But lots of old ppl here are afraid they lost their homes on east and remember war etc and they are afraid that germans/jews/whatever will kick them out again.

Many of Jews and Germans wants to get back their houses which are in Poland. I understand it. But why Poles have to pay for it? Have we started WWII? We were just pawns in the game called WAR. We didn`t want to change our borders after WWII. USA, GB and Russia decided to change our borders and to expel Germans from Poland. Between 1944 and 1989 Russia was in charge in Poland and russian communists decided to expel Jews from our country.
My family also lost their home in Lwow (Leopolis). One day a russian soldier told them - "you had 24 hours to move". And they had to left their home and travel to western Poland. You think that they were happy? Imagine - you have 24 hours to left your home for ever.
So if you want to get back your houses it is OK. But remember who is responsible for that and who should pay for it.

Poles illegally occupied the homes without compensation. They confiscated homes, and wares that they had no right to. When the few Polish Jews that survived the camps tried to return to their homes in Poland, they were greeted by MURDER.

After the war, Jewish officers fighting in the Polish army were awarded homes in Poland. Where-upon armed Polish peasants came in groups to evict/ kill the retired Jewish soldiers. If you want to read about this, there are several books published by my grandfather's friend, a former Jewish lieutenant in the Polish Army.

OK, for the record. I am not and I have never been a hairdresser or a beautician of any sort. Jeez. However, I have had several hairdressers work for me, many of them served in elite IDF units.

This achievement is even greater as you majored as a dentist and developed a "unique pedicure technique" at the same time. But that was still not challenging enough for your mental abilities - you also became an expert in islamic fundamentalism and found the ultimate way to defeat it!!! I bet there is a long waiting-list of ex-IDF elite servicemen trying to be part of your team and learn from you. A man of your knowledge should not waste his time with a beauty saloon, but campaign for presidency! I truly admire your omniscience, knowledge and success. You really deserve the Nobel prize!

Its not about willing its about conscription :), also serving in other country's army is crime..So on your place I would visit lawyer next time you wisit Poland :)

Ah conscription is different, I could volunteer but I would not take upon myself to be drafted. Anyway, yes that is true in Poland it is illegal to be of a different nationality and serve in the Armed Forces.

No no you can have other citizenships and you can serve in other armys but this must be army that you have citizenship. So you can join canadian forces but you have to have Canadian passport too. But if you join lets say FFL without French citizenship you will be prosecuted as a traitor, and threated as scumbag.
And conscription is in time of war in ALL countries. We have conscription in P time but its small and not long time and if you served in CF you don't have to serve....

We don't diferentiate... being conscripted means here you are called to serve army thats all..

in W time all reservist go to army they have their units already assigned(or new unit will be assigned to them). in P time there is conscription for all healty(A category) men betwin age of 18-29(30) but if you study your service is shortened or deleyed or even put direct to reserve, army can delay your service if they don't need you. When your service is delayed enough time to age of 29 you are put directly to reserve. All Polish men at age of 18 have physical test and "military book" (sort of id) is given to them.

Then thats a draft...selective service rather then full out service. Hope I'm not frying your tush but there is a big difference.

Draft is simply a service where everyone is called up, Peace and War time then they select you whether you pass for their physical requirement or not. In a conscriptive service (war time) more then likely they will call everyone and if you do not meet the requirements, you do something else that still relates to the armed forces.

The Polish law says that people who left Poland after 195X (50 something) can get a citizenship or just a passwport, I'm not sure which one and how exactly - it's in the hands of the Polish embassy in Tel-Aviv.

I am not asking for the passport in order to "become" a Pole.
I won't use it to vote and I am not going to use it to get anything a "normal" Pole can get from its gevrnment - all I want is a European passport which your country is willing to give me :lol:
