Delegation members from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the United States, including Soldiers from the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, meet at a remote site just inside Pakistan to discuss issues affecting border security in the region in December 2003. Border security is a critical issue that is affecting the stability of the region and the process of reconstruction in Afghanistan. It is believed that groups such as Al-Qaida and the Taliban, which are opposed to Afghanistan's reconstruction process, may use this area to conduct terrorist operations.
