With the BNP aiming for Euro parliament seats (so Nick Griffin can live off expenses and not just donations), they've been doing their darned hardest to attack the wicked lefty press.

The BNP has never claimed that Mr Beharry “only got a VC because he was black” as the lying headline smears allege - and which can easily be refuted by simply reading the original article.

The action for which Beharry was awarded a VC took place in Iraq on 1 May 2004, when the vehicle he was driving was ambushed. Beharry drove through the ambush to safety - as have hundreds and hundreds of other British soldiers in Iraq under similar circumstances.

This type of action is so common in combat zones, that it actually happened again to Beharry on 11 June 2004, when an identical scenario played itself out.

Despite the fact of driving through an ambush is actually routine for all military vehicles drivers in the British Army in Iraq, the politically correct Ministry of Defence decided to elevate this particular occasion to something worthy of the VC.

There's a thread in here about it. Basically, the BNP produced a huge political display with the tagline "The Battle of Britain" with a beautifully rendered Spitfire that they didn't have permission to use. Unfortunately they chose one from a Polish Squadron, with identifiable markings, so it makes them look a little bit more than silly.

I have as little confidence in those currently in political office as many do, but touting these w@nkers as a protest vote or alternative is still too much. My grandfather, his brothers, and the rest of his generation did not bring about the defeat of Nazi Germany for us to then do their work for them by putting the same vile creatures and fvcked-up policies in place as we would have had, had the other side won.

Luckily the BNP seem to have been shown up for what they are. Most important given peoples frustration with the established parties' snout-in-the-trough antics encouraging people to cast their vote on other parties. By all means protest vote or vote if you think you can get an alternative party into power (I will be), but NOT these closed-minded and odious bigots.

I read about Beharry - it wasnt just that he rode through an ambush. he did it with his crew knocked out / injured, in a crippled warrior, taking heavy incoming. And he did it with his hatch open and his head out, because that was the only way he could see, since the periscopes (iirc) were all ****ed. He saved his boys - apparently there were bullets ricocheting off the hatch, and had close calls with them slicing past his helmet. that warrior should never have made it to the camp, but Beharry drove it there, at like 5mph, through some of the thickest insurgent fire ever seen. He could have left the ambush, or abandoned the vehicle, but he didnt.
