A 23-year-old female teacher in Tampa, Fla., was arrested Monday for the second time on charges of having *** with a 14-year-old male student.

Debra Lafave, (pictured, Below) was accompanied by her new attorney, John Fitzgibbons as she surrendered to Marion County deputies in Ocala.

Lafave, who is married, is a reading teacher at Greco Middle School in Temple Terrace, just northeast of Tampa.

The new charges accuse Lafave of pursuing the 14-year-old student to Ocala, Fla., while he was visiting his 15-year-old cousin.

Detectives said Lafave had *** with the student twice in Ocala - once in the back seat of her car while the cousin drove around town and then again in the car while parked at Brick City Park.

In police statements made by the 15-year-old witness, Lafave allegedly said that she was turned-on by the fact that what she was doing was illegal, WFTS-TV reported.

Lafave has been place on administrative leave.

I believe it varies from country to country and when you're only 14 the other person can't be much older. I believe there is an age limit of the partner then.

There was a similar incident during the 90's in my neck of the woods (Pacific Northwest). A middle school teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau (I think thats spelled right), slept with, and got pregnant by a student. She had the baby and was impregnated again by the same student (I think that the conception occured during a conjugal visit in jail IIRC). Detectives said that the cousins provided matching statements incriminating Debra Beasley Lafave and that the 14-year-old described Lafave's apartment and her tattoos and birthmarks.

Lafave, who teaches reading in the Tampa suburb of Temple Terrace, was arrested there last week on lewd and lascivious battery charges, accused of having *** with the teen earlier this month at her apartment and in a portable classroom at Greco Middle School.

She was out on bond on those charges when she turned herself in Monday in Marion County, about 80 miles north of Tampa, where the cousin lives. There, she is charged with lewd and lascivious battery and exhibition. She was released Monday on $25,000 bail.

Her lawyer, John Fitzgibbons, said he was not ready to respond to the allegations. "There is a presumption of innocence in this country," he said.

The teen told investigators that he and Lafave got to know each other during a class trip last month, and their ****** relationship began June 3.

The boy told detectives that Lafave told him that her months-old marriage was in trouble and that she was attracted to him because having *** with him was not allowed.

Lafave, who has worked with the Hillsborough County school system for two years, has been placed on administrative duty and could be suspended without pay at the next school board meeting, officials said.

It's not the age difference that matters, it's the fact that one of them is a minor. 20 and 28 is totally fine, as is, say, 40 and 48. But what about 22 and 14? That's pretty iffy. What about a 14-year-old having *** with a six-year-old? That's an 8-year difference too. A 10-year-old having *** with a 2-year-old? All of these are 8-year age differences, but some are okay and some are not.
