This is a picture taken during the Cold War era when a Chinese Lu Da Class Destroyer met with USSR Moderen Class Destroyer. The USSR destroyer's cannon point to the heaven. Was it a typical pose to show no hostility?

The AK-130 130mm guns on the Sovremenny point to the sky means:

1. ) a form of salute.
2. ) they are trying to clear a gun jam.
3. ) the guns also double as SATCOM antenna.
4. ) the shells were too heavy.....
5. ) the crews are hungry for bird meat....
