My best friend of 6 years is a girl. At first I did want to do her, but then our relationship evolved into something special. I try to keep *** and friendship on two seperate levels. There are certain things I would do for a friend that I wouldn't do for a ****** partner...IMO

Yeah, I have female friends that I just chill with. 'Course there are some I'd like to (ahem), but there's no need to ruin something good with that. A couple of them are my friend's girls anyway.

I have a few friends who are girls. I don't think of them in that way (date/sleep with them). I must admit that in the begining the thought did cross my mind, but now...it would seem awkward. Like Ratamacue said "there's no need to ruin something good with that".

I've had this discussion men before (including my buddy, Tane). I do believe that men and women can be friends. I have several good friends who happen to be men.

Acutally no. I've never watched it. I've seen the diner scene where she fakes. heehee
My sister has lots of guy friends and has dinner parties with mostly groups of guys and it seems so alien to me because in my experience it is a rare guy that will hang out with a gal unless there is some level of ****** tension (and hope that we might act on it) present.

I agree. Men and women can just hang out; especially if doing activities during which your ****s may pop out.

I hang out with a lot of women on a strictly 'friends' basis. We strictly limit our activities to games of Twister (chocolate pudding version) and Sumo wrestling...

Ah - the Internet is a tad different though. In many cases people lack the time/resources to travel to meet in person. Though this does happen. :D I also find that on the Internet some people get very emotionally invovled unusually quickly because they don't have to deal with a ton of real life stuff that comes with being invovled in person. Plus a girl can tell you she's wearing sexy lingerie even if she's sitting there with a mud mask on, curlers in her hair, and wearing a granny nightie. (Of course I would never do this. ;) ) The Internet is just not the same and you have to know how to deal with what is real and what is just wishful thinking. It's easy to be especially nice or sensitive or pretend you are a certain type of person if you never have to follow through on what you say online.
I have your number - I'll call you sometime *snicker*

I have many female friends, most of whom I would hook up with if the opportunity presented itself. That chance is not why I hang out or do stuff with them, but that feeling is almost always there. I mean, hell, we're all ****** beings, and I love women.
I would do anything for any of my friends, male or female, and so I treat them all equally and respectfully, unless a woman is giving off the vibe (of course nearly only when the devil alcohol is involved  ) and wants to hook up. At that point, I turn into Rico Suave rofl rofl

Yeah I agree with that, I have lots of female friends who I would hook up with, but that isn't the reason I'm friends with. And also, hooking up with a friend can ruin or change the relationship forever. The only time I've hooked up with a friend that didn't make things weird, was with a girl who I didn't really respect in the first place. So really, use your best judgment, ask yourself if it's worth changing a relationship, it could make things better, it could make things worse.

I have a good number of female friends, some of which I enjoy hanging out with more than some of my guy friends. I have one I go running with, one that I swim with, and a bunch that we just hang out, talk, party, watch a movie, drink, go camping, whatever. It's kind of a brother/sister relationship but not. :D Well, you know what they say...marry your best friend.

I've probably got as many platonic female friends as guy friends. Nothing wrong with friends, regardless of what plumbing they've got.

some of my best friends have been adverse to The Republic so they'd take offence to my defining our relationship as platonic, after reading Lysistrata all my female friends demanded I characterise it as more of an aristophonean relationship  . Of the purely non-****** variety I've had several valuable female friends, and in some respects count them as more important than having male friends. Each *** brings something invaluable to the table.
