I was browsing trough yutube, typed "Tijuana" in the search bar and the first results were related to narco-culture. Videos that clearly support illegal activities, in my opinion it should be banned. How come videos that support hatred and/or illegal activities are banned, even **** is banned, but narco-culture videos are not.

It's pretty sad how it has been flooding the ideology of young people all around Mexico and even in the US (Mexican-Americans).

What do you guys think about this?

About the only thing you could do, besides ignoring those videos, is to rant and bitch to youtube and tell them about the offensive nature, and hope they take corrective actions.

That'd be like talking to the wall. I already flagged a couple of vids though, and there is no way to contact youtube.

Means thats not worth the hassel because there is a lot of stupid stuff in the internet and YouTube is not expection. As much as I do not like this side of the net culture, its not the problem if the sites or whatver, its a problem of th people who use it and for changing the net you have to change the people and as we all know there are just too many stupid a**holes and morons out there to actually achive that. You can post everything you want in the net these days, without fearing anything.

I dont know if thats what the founders of the net wanted as they created it back in the 70s and 80s....

I've been contemplating on writing them a letter, voicing my displeasure and concern about the nature of those videos. You might be right; it may be like talking to a brick wall, but you never know if soneone on the other side will actually listen.

He's referring to the Narco videos that basically send out the wrong message to those most likely to watch those videos- teenagers who think it's cool to fire an AK-47 at the ground while listening to narco corridos in their pimped out Escalades and pickup trucks.

sounds just like the "gangsta rap" life style ones that promote gang culture across the world and have made gang shootings in places like Toronto so common now they hardly make a ripple in public outrage, never mind the news.
this is why i hate Rap music.

The majority of people dislike the narcos and their supporters. Don't forget that.

Yeah, it would be sort of similar. That kind of music is much worse influence than other banned videos could ever be. (Videos that violate copyright, gore, etc.)

Freedom of Speech is a double-edged sword.

One edge, the narcoculture is exposed and possibly celebrated
The other edge, the narcoculture is exposed and there's a public outcry to address it.

People like you, jklv are doing your civic duty to show everyone the problem and everyone can see the problem. If the government or Youtube covers it up, then the public can't see it as well, and there might not be an incentive to stop it till it's too late.

So I say keep the videos up.

Youtube won't do anything about videos unless they contain copyrighted Scientology material.

;4165724']Are you talking about narcocorrido ? (Narco ballads)

Yeah. Narco culture which is mainly promoted with narco songs.

Here is an example, this song is called ''El Basucazo'' ( The Rocket Launcher) by El Tigrillo Palma

http://www.youtube.com/v/Otl8fF6hIyQ

Lyrics:

Everything started in Obregon, when a bazuca was used

the feds were outgunned that day

they were various gunmen who were not afraid of anything

they had sophisticated weaponry

with .50 calibers and grenade launchers

the pick-ups and SUVs were packed with goat horns(AKs) and grenade launchers

(This was true comrade!)

They took South 15 going towards Sinaloa

they encountered a checkpoint when entering Navojoa

all hell broke loose, they fought for about an hour

federal agents, state police, soldiers and local police were present

but the gunmen didn't show any respect, through that rain of bullets the men passed through

the police chased them but something else happened

they say a black helicopter landed and took off with them

the helicopter dissapered in the mountains

(It was a ghost, it was a ghost)

some say it was ''Mayo's'' people, others say it was el Chapo's

they are the most powerful, the ones who call the shots

I'm usually not on the disagreeing side with you fella, but seriously?
I mean lets blame video games, movies & mommies that didn't cuddle their kids enough while we are at it. Poverty, organized crime and drugs relate to violent crime. Media influences may not help but they don't contribute directly.

Most rap music these days is about absolute nonsense. "Gangsta Rap" has been dead for a while now & it doesn't look like its coming back.

Youtube has and always be filled with garbage like this. However, Youtube has been clamping down on this and other videos like school fights, racism, and other bulls**t because of the negative press they were getting from media and other groups lately. Ether way though, every time Youtube pulls a offensive video, more offensive videos pop up on there.
