Why should he get a billion when the people of Cuba are going hungry? Hope he enjoys spending teh fake money because there's no way they'll ever get a cent off a dying old dictator and a long-dead revolutionary. Dumb political waste of the court's time and probably of some taxpayer dollars in there too.

It sounds like the plaintiff had a legitimate grievance against the Cuban Government, but how can the courts in Miami have jurisdiction over something that didn't even happen in the USA?

It's like an Iranian court awarding monetary damages to the Sioux and Cherokee for the lands they lost to the US Government.
Sorta, I guess.(best analogy I could think of, in this late hour while semi-buzzed from beer).
