I suppose this would go with the Pet Peeve thread, but
I hate when you are already driving over the limit and someone drives up your *ahem* like you are the slowest thing on the road.
I hate when road construction is ahead and some one speeds up and quickly forces themselves just barely between you and the car in front of you and you look in your rearview mirror and NO BODY is behind you... thus why did they need to risk a car accident to get in front of you????!!!!! They gained nothing more than the length of my car for the duration of the construction area.
I hate when you go to pass somebody and they suddenly find their gas pedal (eg they just don't want you to get a head of them).
I hate when two cars drive side by side so no one behind them get move a head.
blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda

agreed on all points... in fact I had 3 of those happen to me today.... it's enough to cause road rage. Good thing I'm such a sweetheart... ;)

^ Word
From the pet peeves...
--Bad drivers in general. The people who forget to turn off their blinkers. The ones that think they are in a 'Fast & Furious' movie. The ones that never use their turn signals (a joke here in TN). People who drive below the speed limit but when you attempt to pass them, they speed up (especially on the interstate).
When people feel the need to basically rub their vehicle on mine, I hit the brakes and they get a nice big bike rack in their face. Yeah and some people have no concept on getting into the slow lane (THE RIGHT LANE!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHH)

I was behind one guy that left about 6 car lengths between him and the car in front of him (no exaggeration) during a stretch of one lane construction. We were driving like 5mph and I looked away for a second and stopped about 2 feet shy of hitting him (at 5mph) and he totally wigged out and started waving his hands around in his car like a lunatic.
Mind you we were driving 5mph and I did not hit him.
Then he pulled over to let me by. teeheehe I made moose ears with my hands and stuck my tongue out at him.
I'm bad. I hate drivers like me. :D

I agree with your points, Hot Lips, but your first one needs to be clarified. If you are passing people efficiently while in the left lane, then I'll stay off your ass, no matter what speed your doing. But, if you're not passing people, then it's time for some coaxing.
Obviously, slow drivers in the left lane is one of my biggest pet peeves.

For a more regional pet peeve (people from B.C. will understand what I'm talking about), I hate people coming in from the prairies and driving in our very beautiful and mountain filled province. It is like all of a sudden they don't know how to drive. If there are two lanes to drive in, they will stay away from the slow lane(right lane of course) and stay at a constant 100-110 kph (62-70mph). What really gets annoying is when they match the speed of the vehicle in the slow lane or proceed to go well over the speed limit the instant they hit a straight stretch and then slow the **** down they get to a corner, especially when there is a signifigant drop of elevation on the right hand side of the highway(even when there are cement barriers to prevent a car from going over the edge of the highway). I've even had a friend from the prairies tell me that many of the people there get scared ****less when they drive some of the highways over here.
Hell, if they want scary they should go for a ride in my father's logging truck. 50-70kph (31-45mph) with a full load of logs, down a road just barely large enough to handle one and a half trucks abreast that is very steep, containing very tight switchbacks, and in some areas, having drop offs of well over 120 feet on the one side of the road. Nothing like a nice relaxing ride in a logging truck I say :D

I hate driving in a military convoy at 80kmh when the car in front has it's indicator flashing. I'm already bored out of my skull driving at pensioner pace, now I have to watch the indicator blink on and off untill the clown in front sees the light on his dash blinking or untill the next rest stop 2 hours down the track. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :fork: :-*$ :bash:

I was driving almost 80mph in a 50mph zone (spank me) passing a group of tractor trailers (I hate being near them) - they were in the left lane due to construction and I was in the right (for some reason trucks have to get in the left in a two lane construction zone) and some dude pulled up behind me like I wasn't driving fast enough for him. It was pissing me off. Normally if someone rides up my rear I'll slow waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down, but I just wanted to get away from the big trucks.

The case you describe is when I'd give you plenty of space, as long as you were quickly getting by the semis...they drive me nuts too, and being next to them at all, much less in a construction zone, is not where I stay very long. Visions of exploding tires fill my head when I'm next to trucks... ;)

I agree on all points. For instance, last night I was coming home on the Interstate where they were re-surfacing it. It went down to two lanes and traffic was backed up for about 2 miles. This jerk-off in a Lexus SUV (as if his time is so much more important than everyone else's) comes flying up in the lane that ends and tries to cut a semi off. Well, he didn't make it and hit the trucks fuel tank. There wasn't a spill or anything, but that made the traffic MUCH worse.
Something else I detest is a little gray-haired lady driving a brand new sports car at 45 mph in the fast lane. First off, that's a waste of a perfectly good sports car and second, "get the hell out of the way".
What I hate most is Cincinnati, OH traffic. Regardless of time of day, there's a traffic jam. The city has to be the most moronic when it comes to traffic.

If I come across anyone with Ohio State insignia on their vehicle, I do my best to run them off the road. p-)

I hate when Police officers pull me over. I have been pulled over nearly 200 times since I got my liscense (the cops in the city I live in get me every chance they get, no lie) I have 2 actual moving violations on my record, and considering the ratio thats pretty good, those assholes just like to make me late to ****.

I had a fool try to do the classic tailgating "push" a few years back. I was in the slow lane, passing traffic that was in the fast lane, and exceeding the speed limit by a good 10mph. I was driving my trusty POS Isuzu Trooper, which was more suited to living in the woods than a paved road. Anyhow - so this jackass in a brand new Dodge Ram 4x4 - with a lift kit, novelty brush bars etc is right up on me...like two feet off my bumper at 50mph.
We're coming up to a 3 way intersection with a stop light & this jagoff can't wait to get around me. I had of course employed the quick jab of the brakes a few times, just to give him a hint of my displeasure. But he'd have none of it, he was too important to be slowed down.
So he gathers up his nerve, jams the gas pedal down, and roars around me on the grass on the right shoulder of the road. He apparently didn't see the lights coming up, or the large sign with a picture of the signal lights either - since he hit the sign, lost control on the wet grass, and spun into the middle of the intersection on a red light, nearly t-boning the crossing traffic. He winds up facing backwards, towards all of us in his former lane, now stopped at the light.
I was the first one in line at the red light, so I got to sit there and laugh and point at ****less, who sat there, stone faced, grasping the wheel for dear life. When the light turned green, I just smiled & waived at his dented truck. What the hell gets into people when they're behind the wheel? Folks would never treat each other like that face to face. It's damn near as bad as the Internet.

Who knows, 2Sheds -- could've had been hurrying his pregnant 15yo girlfriend to the hospital.
But for real -- people turn into psychopaths behind the wheel. Me included, sometimes.

Have you ever been to L.A. ?or southern cali for that matter? We have traffic 24/7 the average speed on the freeway is like 15Mph. I hate this states road system.....
