Why are some american bodyguards using HK, and mini AK, when they have the quite decent M4 variants at their disposal?.

Hate to be technical, but the difference in the M4 and MP5 ROF is rather miniscule. Both top at about 800. Some Mp5's, such as the K/PDW model go up to 900 however.

maybe cause an M4 is to big 2 conceal, and harder 2 manouver
Is that so? Think again. Although this is an Airsoft Version; I do beleive an "M4" variant of the below exists; I've also seen John Clark in "Clear And Present Danger" use it ;)

That certainly would not be an M4 variant and that particular picture does not indicate the gas piston inertia recoil spring tube assembly at the end of the lower receiver on actual pistol versions of the AR line. The reason the pistol version is not prevalent is that the extremely high gas pressure & cycling rate of the 5.56 round coupled with a super short barrel makes for absolutely lousy projectile ballistics...

DG, that airsoft gun would be impossible in a real gun. The AR series require that tube behind the reciever for the bolt cycling action. Thats why all real ARs with no stock still have this tube...
Like this, the bolt would have nowhere to go, or it could fly back and smash your face. That might not be fun... :cantbeli:

The difference between calibres alone is pretty significant, surely? Especially when it comes to snap shooting at close range in response to an attack on the protectee. I can certainly imagine some people preferring an MP5 for that sort of work.

Firing a 5.56 round in a barrel that long would give it a bloody high recoil.

I dont think it would be that much of a difference.
What I understand of F=MA and action=reaction, bbl length is a nonfactor in recoil.

digitalghost you continue to surprise me, as said before, the stock is where the recoil spring is housed, if u have ever disasembled a real ar15 you should have known that..also, clear and present danger was a MOVIE, u cannot compair hollywood to real life, end of conversation.

The reason i asked this in the first place was if you notice in Afghanistan a lot of the bodyguards/cp. mob used the m4 variants, but in Iraq it seems the weapon of choice is hk for bg/cp.
