Not so sure about this as I know of two vessel owners who just told their present crew (Poles & UK) to f*ck off and replaced them with Filipinos and one bragged of paying them £110 a week. No real advatages other than they will work for much less than locals, all of them have seamans tickets only some have have actual fishing skills. I agree that Euros should get first shout but I realise that there is a place for people with unique skills.
