An unidentified U.S. military trainer, left, passes a line of Afghan soldiers of the Afghan National Army during a training at an Afghan military barrack on the outskirts of Kabul Wednesday, July 23, 2003. About 1,000 troops from this army on Monday launched their first major combat operation, a sweep for insurgents in Surmad district in the southeastern province of Paktia. No fighting has been reported during the operation, dubbed "Warrior Sweep," according to Director of Public Affairs of the Coalition Joint Task Force-180, Col. Rodney Davis. This photo has been taken during a "bodyguard course" for operators that will protect the new members of the Afghan government.
After the course, there has been a demonstration inside the Kabul stadium.
Further photos of the course and of the demonstration can be seen here:

Last time I saw pics of afghans they had sandals and not complete uniform. Is this just a posing thing or are they all really that good equipped?
They look good and disciplined, or at least thats all that i could tell from the images. But then again they could be former souldiers who alredy have training, dont forget that eveyguy who has a gun i afghanistan doesnt exactly represent everybody in afghanistan, some of them look like morons while other is really good soildiers with expierence and training.
