Good pics! :)

What's up with the green berets-wearing soldiers? Not yet airborne-qualified? Kinda like the tabless rangers in Ranger Batts?

]hmm pretty sure there black berets.

They're green, black berets are for armored units. I'm guessing they're not airborne qualified. Nice pics.

aaah come on, you make it seem like the t-shirt is sacred...its not. anyway respect to the unit, thats why i'd wear it. not because i just think it looks cool...gotta represent when i'm off in EUROPE.

The green berets are either:
a- company attaches (non para troops simply attached to them)
b- havent been in the jump coy for a year, to get the white leaf on the jump wings and the maroon beret you must pass one year in the coy.

Dont get the shirt...and if you do, dont go around saying you're Airborne. They are willing to get in a fight with those who dont earn what they wear. The only way you use to be able to wear the Abn shirt was if you were either Airborne or f*cking someone from the Airborne.

the white leaf and beret represent someone in the CF in a paratrooper position not just someone para qualified.

Paratrooper is mostly right on the beret issue and 100% right about the t-shirt. The guys in these pics wearing green berets are non-para qualified troops posted to the Para Coy, hence they still wear the infantry green beret. However there are at least a half dozen that I recognize from CPC that are now qualified parachutists and well on the way to becoming fully qualified paratroopers. In 3RCR Para Coy however, the maroon berets are issued as soon as the troop is jump qualified, it is the white wings they have to hold the para position for a year to earn.

Secondly, paratrooper is bang on in regards to the Airborne t-shirts. If you want to support the Canadian Airborne, apply to join an association like ARAC or CAFA and get an "association" shirt or make your own "Canadian Airborne Supporter" t-shirt. You can contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the Airborne role in Canada in the SECOND best way, by showing support and lobbying for it with the politicians that are STILL trying to disband what Airborne we have left. Never, never, never pretend to be something you're not. If you want to wear it so bad then go earn it, it is sacred to those who have.

well then...i wont buy it...

Smart move.....you don't want to be mistaken for a "friends of the force".....(I was told that these were girls that Airborne troops railed and in return for their "services" they would be rewarded a nice maroon t-shirt).
