How many eggs do you eat per week? I'm wondering because I have 3-4 eggs every day of the week, and I've always heard how eggs are "high in cholesterol" and are therefore bad for you.

Question includes egg whites and egg yolks together.

Of course eggs have never been shown to increase serum cholesterol which is what contributes to coronary artery disease, but I'm also wondering what you think about the whole egg controversy.

it depends, because sometimes i coud eat 3-4 eggs in one day, and have 2 weeks break of eating eggs. But my vote was-1-2 eggs.

PS. wtf is this cholesterol, did you saw him ever?

Only time I really eat eggs is on a breakfast sandwich or in a cake. Usually 1-2 times a week. Sometimes I splurg and order the denver omelet at Denny's.

Nothing is better than a well made egg salad sandwich.

I eat about 12 eggs a day, I pour them all into a blender and 'blend' them then drink it

Thank you guys for your great responses!

I had no idea that people only use egg-whites. The protein content in the whites and the yolks are about equal, but the yolks contain almost all of the nutrients/minerals/vitamins but also all of the fatty acids.

The idea that you shouldn't have too many eggs because of cholesterol is a misconception from the 1970s when research showed that breakfast meals heavy in eggs correlates in a higher incidence of coronary artery disease, which is the accumulation of placques, or deposits, in the coronary arteries. However, the research did not take into account the foods associated with eggs, such as sausage and bacon, which are very heavy in saturated fatty acids.

I'm wondering if the people who have few eggs per week (which are the vast majority) are eating few because of cholesterol or because their diets simply do not call for many eggs.

When I visit my parents, eggs for breakfast is almost mandatory but when I do cooking or breakfast myself I hardly ever have eggs...
