Been there, done that. While other tourist was drinking as if Rome was on fire, I rented a moped and toured the countryside. Only went in to local cafès and bars. Talked to locals. Watching old men sitting around a table playing card and drinking wine. Watch'em debate something they just read in the paper. (did not understand a word, but it was tons of fun anyway.)
