Hi all
I'd like to share some thoughts on first generation Molle vest issued by US army. This thread will show four different setups of that vest. Pls dont pay attention on my cloths, pouch colors, etc. all I want is to share the idea.
First setup: standard vest

Second setup: chest rig
Instruction: belt is the foundation for the chest rig. the back straps become shoulder straps. you need two additional webbing belts and two larger fastex buckles to fix the chest rig over you back as shown in the picture.

Here I used straps from standard Australian webbing harness. They are removable. The same harness is later used for webbing setup.
Third setup: backpack
Instructions: just take the original chest parts and attach them in such a way that they are stretched over your back. You could create some additional

Of course it needs larger pouches to function as a backpack, but you get the idea.
Fourth setup: belt webbing
Instructions: i used webbing harness of ADF for this setup cos it attaches through loops instead with hooks like US one. UK webbing harness does the job too.

I've also attached a cheapo hydration system and for demo purposes I fastened a tarp on the belt. The latter has been achieved with large back straps on the belt and couple of fastex buckles. The only drawback in my case, the mag pouches are a bit too far on the side. Could be closer to the front but I am a fairly big guy! So it should be fine for an average person.
I still havent tested it but how could i when I live in down under...no army rifles no airsoft!
Feedback welcome.
