Ayatollah Ali Khamenei denounces the UK government as "evil"
The UK has told an Iranian diplomat that Ayatollah Khamenei's description of the British government as "evil" is unacceptable.
incompetence, hopeless and doomed fair enough but not actually evil :)

A brief news article about it. Although unless i'm blind I see no quote where anyone actual made that exact statement.. And you'd have thought it'd be a fairly obvious, and important one to include. Perhaps a case of media sensationalisation?

Its not really sensitive, more just genuine bemusement that Iran thinks it can make comments like these in a serious way. This could be a great excuse to start the evil empire again though.

i wonder where UK is positioned on shaitan scale. US is classified as big shaitan, israel - small shaitan. i guess UK is somewhere in the middle, say medium shaitan ?

‘face the consequences’ if they continue their open support for reformist candidate Moussavi. That sounds very much like a direct threat.
Compare and contrast that standard with the alleged ‘evil empire’ of Great Britain (disregard geopolitics of mid 20th century oil exploration)
and try to remember the last time the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, Queen Elizabeth 11, addressed her subjects with the
threat of punishment if they expressed a desire for democracy through a movement of peaceful protest.

I guess they kind of have a point. We did overthrow their democratically elected government and put a pyschotic dictator in charge, because they threatened to nationalise the oil trade in the country. It wasn't all that many years ago really and the people in charge in Iran remember it. As the old guard dies out and less people are created to replace them by sabre rattling and axis of evil ****ouncing tripe goes on, that should slowly change. It similar to the situation of ex pat Cubans in Florida in some ways.
