I found a clean Kar98k in a store and I'm going to be picking it up next week. Its a J.P.Sauer made in 1941, its clean, has a site hood and cap screws. I need a sling and cleaning rod for it, what/where is the best place to pick one up at. p-)
Where is the best place to find info about the Kar98k?
thanks p-)
I'll have a friend for Yugo M48A

What type of info are you looking for? Just general specs and history - try google there is a wealth of information available.
IE. : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karabiner_98k
For the sling, just search around hunting stores or online for a good leather sling, that's what I had on my Mauser and it fit well and also looked good too.
In terms of a cleaning rod, I had spare 7.62 nato rods, and just used a larger patch. As for a bore-brush; again just search online or at hunting supply stores for an 8mm or 7.92

That should be a good buy, a 1941 K98k should be as good as a pre-war one, quality didnt drop untill fairly late in the war.
