Just to let you guys know that this picture won the UK Army Photgraphic Competition this year. Results were in Soldier Magazine :D

So what is he doing. Is he on the perimeter of a base, or is he covering the movement of the vehicles. Is he in the Royal Marines?

IIRC it was taken during the assault on Basrah, and he's a sharpshooter from the Irish Guards.

I love this photo, it has crasy details, and some real "drama".

By the way, little detail that i loved, his jungle boots are almost has 'dead" as mine, I was starting to feel bad wearing those rags, but SO comfy :oops:

I'll grab my copy of Soldier mag from the office tomorrow and give you some infor on the picture. IIRC, the guy who took it did an interview. Might also be able to do some page scans of the runners up.
