New Kiwi cap

For any one interested, heres some pics of the new(ish) Kiwi cap used on deployment. They are a black baseball cap with a white Kiwi on the front. The example I have also has the regimental badge - in this case the Hauraki Regt embroidered black on black on the left rear quarter. These caps are just locally N.Z bought "made in china" caps that were embroidered here in N.Z

Actually, they are the old heavy weight versions.

The new ones are made out of much lighter, breathable fabric and have been around for a couple of years.

never seen any with the unit badge on it, maybe a unit thing? also have a sand version we had made up in bagram.

The "Angry Kiwi" is growing on me. :)

I much prefer the old school baseball caps.......I'm not a fan of the material on the new deployment caps...it reminds me of a mesh shirt.

I'm willing to part with it for $47,000US, or trade it for 500 M4 Mags, or trade it for 3 M240's, or trade it for 3 NVEs, or trade it for 1 Uparmoured Humvee, or tra.... :)

Yeah, the mesh ones have a funny cut too and don't fit my NZ European/Polynesian noggin well, the supafit ones are quite good. Black caps don't stay black very long in Afgan. Good and bad its easy to spot a kiwi at distance in bagram with them and the black kiwi roundel on the sleeve.

Yeah, sorry. I meant they were made by a NZ Army supplier who used caps he sourced which were from china & made for the NZ army. They are issue, not sold to the public.

Also came across this one as well. Black light cotton baseball cap with a olive green/brown kiwi with a white eye on the front. Kiwi is quite large (approx 60mm w x 50mm h )
