1. A wire guided missile is connected to the launcher via a wire that transmits targeting information to the missile. This is used primarily with SACLOS type missiles such as the TOW. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/tow.htm

1. What exactly is a Wire Guided Missle
It is a missile that is guided by wires. In simpleton terms when the missile is fried then wires trail behind it and guide it to its target. Something to do with a computer inside the weapons sysmtem which gives the missile instructions. I guess like a remote control car but the car is attached to the remote.

A teleision guidance system was developed for the Hs 294D torpedo glide bomb, also wire guided.
