Another 2 of those 88 gun crews and the Germany would have won :D
If i understand corectly:
11-planes
40-tanks
15-buildings/bunkers.

For static defense, the 88s were great.
However, they seem to be less useful for offensive maneuvers.
Come to think of it, I do believe they had some self-propelled versions.

Germans had plans for a tank that would be equipped with TWO 88 cannons. Now if you see that a 88 FLugzeug Abwehr Kanone could send a shell over 10 km straight up, imagine what it did with tanks. Anf if two of them fired together, well, it would be a genuine Tommy-cooker machine.

Not true,
Afrika Corps used 88's extensively in offensive mode as the only means of combating the British Tanks - especially in the early stages when german armor was significantly outgunned. One battle (name escapes me) Rommel ordered his 88's pushed forward by tanks into forward position - decimating British armor that felt safe out of range of german tanks... 88's and 105mm howitzers were pretty much a stopgap solution to anything it seems... offense or deffense...

From what I have read about the Allies' experiences in WWII, the Allies feared the 88 in a big way.

mate if I had to come up against an anti tank cannon that could slice through my armour... I would be scarred...
