Hi, have picked up a couple of these webbing belts & was wondering if anyone could ID them for me. They are of a sage webbing material 55mm wide and each has x10 dome eyelets on them which I presume are for attaching puoches to. Clasp/buckles are metal which has a green plastic coating on it. Many thanks in advance.

Could be 1944 pattern, jungle issue?

Not used it but seem to remember reading that it was issued in between 37 and 58 patterns, had eyelets on the belt, and that is definitely a British/Commonwealth buckle as used from back in the day to the current day.

Definitely Commonwealth. Maybe even SADF. When the SANDF went Soldier2000 pattern a lot of old kit flooded the militaria market.

This one is a '88 issue. On the Way - is there perhaps a number written inside the belt?

44 pat belts running round the bottom and had 37 style buckles on the back. could be rhodesian perhaps.

No stamps or ID markings on either of them. Someone has penned the letters R.J.S on the inside of one, but no official markings to be seen....

Belts ID'd & the answer was right in my own backyard ! I have just walked up to the corner shops to post some letters & called into the Liquor Shop & showed it to the old Rhodesian guy who owns it - almost bought a tear to his eye! He told me it is a South African Patt 74 belt. He said he remembers two types. The ones I have & another type which had D rings on it. So cheers for all your help guys!!:)

Sadf belt for sure - 1980's version, the earlier 70's one was the one to wear though had brass bits on it that got shiny with wear for extra houding.

Would look good with some blood-diamond pants.

Most definitely a South African Patt 74 belt. Exactly like the one I used (and still have.)
