Hi guys
i recently acquired this interesting flight jacket. i think its a reproduction but I cant seem to find anything else about it. It's not one of the common bomber jacket styles from avirex so i'm thinking it might be more of a motorcycle jacket. not sure really so I thought I'd ask the experts here. As far as condition goes. it's in very good shape. there is some scuffing on the cuffs and some fading of the inside liner. it's listed as made in India.

btw im a longtime lurker and first time poster - hi!

Here's some pics. any insight would be appreciated.

That is not a flight jacket I have ever seen. Those buckels would dig in pretty deep when wearing a harness of any type.

is it a fantasy jacket? sort of a make beleive bomber jacket inspired bit of fashion?

the leather is extremely heavy and durable so it would be very functional as a motorcycle jacket. but the zip on leather hood is very impractical as far as bikes go so i dunno

Only B-7 jacket I know of was like a sheepskin leather parka and issued to those in very cold weather climates like Alaska. Imagine something like an NB-3 but in sheepskin.

avirex always makes fashion modeled after the military. its not an authentic military jacket.

Does anyone know of a forum or website of Avirex (or leather jacket) collectors or enthusiasts?

van gogh, agreed. the word authentic is a dead giveaway for a reproduction. Also would US military gear be made in India?

oldsoak. ill have to check out the arctic B7

cheers for the replies
