Not even the US could afford that. To put it simply and mildly.

Are you kidding me? We have already afforded this much, 23 trillion is like pocket change. Bring on the printing press!

"Why make trillions when we can make...BILLIONS?"
Even if it was half that amount, this is exactly why we need better regulations and less government handling of large projects and money. I still get a kick after Obama took office, he encourages and pushes a bill through for another huge bailout then turns around and talks condescendingly to home owners saying those who were responsible will be eligible for government programs. But the irresponsible corporations that butt ****ed our economy in pure greed, they get billions with salary caps. ::GRINS::
Ain't it grand?

I'll split the difference and go to $12 trill. Nothing like doubling(or more) the national debt.
I love how the government is trying to borrow it's way out of a debt problem. Inflation, here we come!!!!!

I look on the bright side, once Hyper-inflation hits I'll be able to pay off my truck with a single pay-check.

FUZZY math to say the least. This is not actual expenditure...it's however called financial exposure. Accounting starts way back from 2007. Anyways I think this guy is more interested in media buzz than real accounting. US doesnt have 24 trillion to spend....and China and rest of the world doesn't have that much to lend US either.

Of course we do. Its called money on the fly! Print print! Its just paper with meaningless value.. none of its backed by gold.

The simple truth is that we don't. This is a $14 trillion economy man. of cos u theoretically can print however much you want but if you want to be realistic for second, then you realize that you don't just print 24 trillion on the fly!
