A question... the sizes of schuberth helmets... is it correct that the "largest" helmet size is a "size IV" ? A size IV would be necessary for a headsize-circumference of 60 cm ? is that correct ?

I searched the internet for availablility of second hand schuberth helmets-sizes IV (on several internet-military-gear-shops) but I cannot find any in that (big) size... So if anybody knows where they sell them in the IV-size... give a sign...

i don't know if this much of a help but this German shop (Link (http://www.raeer.com/shopexd.asp?page=&id=27859?var=00000)) has one Schubert helmet and its in four different sizes (56/57, 58/59, 60/61, 62/63) although they only have the two medium sizes. but if they genereally use these sizes for military helmets and its the same as your size I-IV then size IV would be 62/63 cm

The german combat helmet by Schuberth comes in these sizes:

1 | 51-54 | 51-55
2 | 55-57 | 55-59
3 | 58-60 | 58-62
4 | 61-64 | 61-65

First pair of numbers is the nominal size (in centimeters), the second is the actual adjustability - so with a 60cm head, get a size 3 helmet.
