India, Russia consider building fighter planes with China
06/28/2004 -- 16:47(GMT+7)

New Delhi, June 28 (VNA) - A newspaper in India on June 27 cited the imminently departing Russian Ambassador to India A. Kadakin as saying that India and Russia are considering inviting China to join a project to develop a fifth-generation multi-purpose combat plane.

The ambassador said the planes will need huge investment in terms of design, technology and cost.

Kadakin, who is expected to leave India for home on July 1, affirmed that India and Russia are intending to sell Brahmos missiles to a third country. He said, "a number of Southeast Asian countries are showing interest in this type of missile because it is one of the best in the world."--Enditem

No matter how cool Chinese prototypes looks. They stays far far behind from real state-of-the-art US, Russian and European designs.

Yeah. While been able to produce some electronic devices it is very easy to perform reverse engineering and to begin making devices of own desings.

But military equipment is something different. It is not enough to steal blueprints of engine. You should understand WHY some desicions in design were applied. Without it you will not be able to understand whole concept. And to say more when talking about materials used it is not enough to know what they consists of. MOre important to know techonoloy how they produced.
