View Full Version : What do the ex-Forces lads make of this?
I read about this in today's Daily Telegraph. I'd like to hear opinions on this (especially from the ex/serving Brit forces lads here who have/haven't been to NI). I'm ex-Brit forces, now currently serving in a Brit police force and I'm less than impressed with this, especially the 2nd and 4th ones down.........
(from the new official Sinn Fein website, this is real you can actually buy them)

The Easter Rising one isn't bad but the rest a clearly posting a display that sponsors the IRA and their struggle against THE LAW and HUMANITY. The IRA isn't fighting against British Imperialism and they sure aren't freedom fighters. Did the IRA have a just cause? Yeah, once upon a time but they are full of gangsters and thugs willing to pay any price to get what they want even at the expense of those they claim they are fighting for. I don’t even know why they label themselves as the IRA anymore. Its just an excuse.

One of my earliest memories was of the IRAs handiwork. Was about 6 yrs old around 1980 visiting London a day or so after an IRA nail bomb went off killing several soldiers ( Royal Horse Guards??) several horses and a few bystanders. The streets were an inch deep in sawdust, red from the blood soaked up. Happy memory huh? Anyone remember this incident? (although Im sure it wasnt the only one).
I live in the US now , cant tell you how many arguments Ive gotten in with pro IRA yanks, Im really suprised I havent killed someone yet!
Good **** Martin!

Ah, dont even get my started. To many Irish-Americans still romanticize about a united Ireland (as do I) but they fail to realize the IRA is not one to sponsor such a movement. They are too distant to realize the complexity of the situation. They see IRA and they think oppressed Irish and before you know it the gun money comes spilling out of their wallets. Ignorance.

"The IRA hey at least were not Al qaeda"
MAybe not Al Queda, but im sure the groups have dealings...
If Al Qaeda wants good information on how to bypass the British security system, or needs to buy some arms, im sure the IRA would gladly help em.
Anywho, the IRA is a bunch of low life, drunken, gangsters.
