I was on Temporary Duty in Warsaw a few years back and one of the liason Polish officers drove us by where they had a statue of George Washington (or Thomas Jefferson, I think). Anyway, he asked us if we knew the Polish connection with our the Revolution. The best we could come up with was that some Poles fought in the Rev. war. He was going to tell us the whole connection but somehow he never got around to it and we forgot about it the next day (work and everything). Anyone care to enlighten me? I just now remembered this because of the 4th and some pics/posts by some Polish forum members...it jogged the old memory. :D

Both of these soldiers have monuments by the White House.

There is a statue of Pulaski in Freedom Plaze which is one or two blocks east of the White House. There is a statue of Kosciuszko on the north side of the White House - look for them if you're ever in DC.
