View Full Version : A question for Enfield owners
My sporterized Enfield recently had a small piece fall off the bolt. I suspected that it was part of the case ejection assembly, and after putting a spent casing into the chamber my suspicions were confirmed. The case was brought out of the chamber but not thrown clear. The piece that fell off is very small, about and inch long and a quarter or so of that wide. My question is, does anyone know if this will effecting the shooting of the rifle itself? Any help would be great, thanks.

Not really sure which you have, but most parts interchange anyway. Not all though.
If that doesn't do it leaf through this and see if anything looks likely.

edit: If it is the extractor, check to make sure you still have an extractor screw.
If not you may need both. Or the screw fell in the magazine.
Either way fix it or get it fixed. No such thing as "good enough" with a rifle.

Check the extractor spring. It's a small leaf spring inside the extractor.

Thanks for the help guys, I do believe it would be smart for me to take it to a certified gunsmith, as I am going to need it fixed.

certified gunsmith
That works. Probably not going to be expensive either.

X2 Highly likely.
